What you are about to read here, and at other linked Allstate sites, could change your life! It could help you make the most informed and biggest decision you have ever made. It could determine How You Live the rest of your life, and save you from financial ruin.

"The insurance carrier in essence is a quasi public institution. Without their backing to ensure financial stability, the public at large suffers great harm in terms of peace of mind and financial well being, ensured. Yet, what has occurred in the market place is a driving interest, where the interest is not the insured or the claimant/plaintiff rather it's the economic interests of the carrier that is first and foremost. Therefore, the powers of delay and money are used in support of the financial incentives of the carrier. The claims game in essence is played not for what the fundamental purpose really is, to solve the problems of the insured, the customer, rather it is played, to create problems that in turn play to the power of delay and money, which in turn equates to more profit for the carrier."   Expert Witness, Insurance Claims - Mike Cerf

We are of  the opinion that Allstate has been targeting pre selected percentages of their claims pay outs to substantially boost immediate profits. Giving upper management immediate bonuses. This has been going on for several years. However, in the past with the billions of dollars in resources Allstate has been able to dismiss most investigations with their tactical PR department. That is until they got too greedy and upped the percentages of the once easily dismissible percentage, and is now edging towards a fourth of all their claims, thus producing thousands more victims.

If a consumer commits a fraud against Allstate, he will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But, if Allstate commits a fraud against a consumer by denying a legitimate claim, they get:

VERY WEALTHY!

Despite the largest profits in history, more and more insurers are cheating their honest claimants with dirty tricks and non-payment. Most people buy insurance to protect against some catastrophic event. People who haven't had frequent dealings with insurance companies assume that, "They're in Good Hands", or "A Good Neighbor"  will deliver "A Piece of The Rock" to them if they buy their insurance. Little do they know, that after a disaster they could lose everything, have their life ruined, and then face THEIR WORST NIGHTMARE...

THE INSURANCE COMPANY

I doubt that Allstate Insurance Company will ever recognize their obligation to weigh Insured's well-being against the well-being of their profit margins. All too often in the choice between well-being of Insureds and the financial well-being of their business, concealment is chosen over disclosure, and money over morality. Allstate Insurance denies claims because it is extremely profitable for them, and just because they can. They play the numbers, reject your claims and have to pay only a small percentage. As bad as it may be, there is actually a very good economical reason for insurance companies to commit bad faith, and deny claims. Insurance companies receive thousands of claims every day. Many of these claims are wrongfully stalled, lowballed, and denied. However, very few insureds actually dispute these wrongful actions, or think they can do anything about them. And sadly, for the most part, that is true. Attorneys don't take such cases because they are too expensive to litigate, and insurance companies will make sure they stay tied up in court for years, knowing they have the resources to outlast us, and hoping we will just go away. That's the Game! They don't care that someone's life may be at stake,  which is a total mockery of what insurance is supposed to be.  Thus, insurance companies accumulate vast fortunes which they are otherwise obligated to pay.

For example, let's say that an insurance company denies 100 claims. Of these 100 claims, five dispute the coverage and the insurance company changes its mind and agrees to accept four of the claims but continues to refuse the fifth claim. The fifth claimant then files a lawsuit and recovers punitive damages against the insurance company. Even if the claimant who filed suit recovers millions of dollars against the insurance company, it is likely that the insurance company still saved even more millions of dollars by not having had to pay the 95 claims which were not disputed. Thus, even though an insurance company gets caught every once in a while, they continue to accumulate staggering amounts of wealth by continuing to wrongfully deny legitimate claims. Sad too, is that it is mostly done to the elderly and the poor, who can least afford it, or have no strength to fight back.

What can insurers possibly hope to gain by stonewalling except lots of bad publicity, ill will and very likely some justifiable punitive damages - that is if it ever gets to trial? None of this makes any sense whatsoever to the common lay person. What is it that we do not know or understand about the attitude of these insurers that would cause them to victimize a policyholder of many years, and why?

Why? Because insurers make money doing it. Never lose sight of the fact that this is the single purpose of an insurance company. Pay little and pay late. When they're holding your money, they can afford to delay, and wear you down. For every dollar they spend in litigation, they'll save three dollars on people who just give up and take what is offered. Then, on the cases that they win; (and they do win -- in part because juries have been conditioned to believe that all claimants are frauds and cheats who are puffing up the number to try to get rich off the insurance company by making frivolous claims. It is startling to most people, who have worked hard, never asked for anything, and paid premiums their whole life to suddenly realize that in court, they will be treated as "one of those people" who are trying to get one over on the insurance industry -- and even more disheartening to realize that their premium dollars are funding the effort to discredit them!)

Please remember

Allstate thinks they are above the law and that most people will be able to do nothing.
Allstate does not always follow it's own policy mandating objective investigations.
Allstate may not investigate leads that would prove favorable to your claim.
Allstate demands may be unreasonable and in direct conflict with the terms of your policy.
Allstate may engage in manufacturing and pursuing only leads that are adverse to your claims.
Allstate investigations may be outcome oriented towards denial of your claims.

HOW CAN all.gif (4186 bytes) GET AWAY WITH THIS ?

Simple, THEY'RE ORGANIZED!  With all the $$$$$ they make by wrongfully denying claims, they can buy lobbyists and lawyers who work hard to protect them; undermining justice and corrupting our elected officials who pass laws that cost us even more money and make us even more helpless. They first destroy our confidence, then our belief system, and our belief in the American sense of Justice. When you are totally helpless and counting on Allstate to

"DO THE RIGHT THING"

Please Believe, all.gif (4186 bytes) Will Not

Still think you are in "Good Hands"?

"If you get into an accident with someone insured by Allstate, beware. Using fraudulent tactics, Allstate claims representatives have deceived hundreds of injured people into believing the company is representing their interests in settling accident claims. But the truth is Allstate uses the ploy to keep injured people from seeking attorneys that may help them get the compensation they deserve. In fact, Allstate is so protective of their policy of misrepresenting claims handlers to injured people that they asked the FBI and the US Attorney's Office in Chicago to investigate consumer advocates that have been trying to expose Allstate's scheme. Click here to view a copy of the letter written by Assistant US Attorney Steven Chanenson to Allstate attorneys confirming Allstate's demand to investigate consumer advocates."

"Allstate also employs a scheme of denial and delays in settling the claims of injured people represented by lawyers -- all to hold on to your money as long as possible. Seemingly as a matter of corporate policy, Allstate appeals as many unfavorable arbitration settlements as it can. By taking victims to court, Allstate delays paying for damages and earns billions in interest from that money."

"Why? Because Allstate has billions of your dollars earning interest for them. In fact, according to Allstate's own annual report, the company had $66.5 billion in investments in 1998, and they earned a total of $3.89 billion from those investments.

"King County Superior Court Judge Philip Hubbard recently ruled that Allstate's practice of "representing" injured people is fraudulent and unethical. Click here to view the judge's ruling. Judge Hubbard's groundbreaking ruling is the first such decision in the nation. Allstate faces 55 similar cases in 22 other states as well. The Association of Trial Lawyers of America has been tracking Allstate's fraudulent tactics."  from... WSTLA
